What problems happen for 99' Civic Si at 146k?
So I'm considering a 99' Si for $6800 but it has 146k miles on the motor. I wanted to find out what problems could potentially occur. Will this motor need a rebuild or adjustments anytime soon?
The owner is female and the car is stock besides an AEM air-intake. Paint is very good still with a couple minor scratches and dings. The car has had the following done: new battery, recent tune up: timing belt, serpentine belt, and water pump, rebuilt transmission and new clutch.
Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I KBB the car and it said for "Good" condition $6800. I assumed that's where she got her price. I offered her $6500 ... still too much? Motor felt strong but would need to take it to my mechanic to get a compression test and a better idea of its condition ...
well if she did tune up you our good, but tune ups consist of pcv valve, spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fuel filter, trans service, oil and filter, tb service, coolant flush,
just go over the stuff listed, put some fuel injector cleaner, check coolant hoses, check ball joints, tie rods, shocks, bushings, ALSO check brakes and rotors...
main thing is with these cars, people beat on them or steal them so keep a alarm....and make sure no oil leaks and check tranny for no grinds, and you should be fine....
just double check timing belt if it looks new cause people lie about that stuff...
Compression test and leakdown test!!!

Thank you! She does have all the maintenance records and the number of her mechanic if I wanted to go over the details of the tranny rebuild and other jobs completed.
