Default question about ls/vtec...

i read that you get "leakage"? i am considering building one...the only area that i can see that might leak is between the head and block because the gasket holes and openings don't seem to line up right. can anyone who knows, let me know about this leakage if there is and how bad it is? thanks.

There is no 'leakage' unless you screw something up. Doing an LSVT requires you plug an oil galley on the VTEc head since the LS block does not have the oil passages to supply the head (dowels are also modified). This is why you need to run an external oil line from the block to the head.
Done properly, an LSVT does not leak and if a shop tells you this... don't do it with them.

no shop ever touches my car or motor...i'll be building it. i was just curious because in a honda tuning or one magazine said "you'll have leakage". maybe it was super street and they suck. i didn't see how though and wondered why they stated that. but i know what's all involved with a proper lsvtec build. thanks for the input.
