WTF ls/vtec oil leak?
Ok well i just put my ls/vtec together. I have a GSR head and B18a1 block. I had the head tapped and dowl pins relocated. Well when i mounted the head to block to torque them down i dipped the headbolts in oil before i torqued them on. After i put every gasket, bolt etc..on about an hour later i see oil between the head and block right underneath where the vtec solenoid is located. I clean the spot every hour and will see a little bit of oil coming down the side of the block... So i need to know why its coming out.. i am using a LS headgasket too. Can someone help me?

check cam seal and what dizzy are you using, if you used a nonvtec dizzy then you had to cut one of the legs off of it. my buddy cut a leg off his diz and oil leaked a little bit like yours.

why does it surprise everyone that there is an oil leak with an ls/vtec, this is not honda reliability built at factory.....
if you don't know how to do it which seems to be the case since you can't troubleshoot an oil leak then why did you do the work yourself?

I guess to learn of your mistakes...
But im using a GSR distributer. Could it be that relocated the dowel pins on the block and not the head?

if the head was milled/block decked/ or dowel pin holes not drilled down far enough, the dowel pins may not let the head completely seal. If you do remove the head again, grind your dowel pins down a bit shorter than they are now.

take 1/4 inch off the the pins just to make sure!!! often when a head and block have been milled and decked people forget to make adjustments on the pins....
it could also be from your dizzy or the cam cap in front of the dizzy or the vtec cyliniod leaking....
try those before you rip the head off....maybe the vtec oil pressure switch isn't tight...or the vtec gasket got pinched....

I know its somthing to check by i am so sure it is.. I have used gasket maker for cam caps and solenoid.. I don't even see an oil trailing to the where its leaking... It right between the head and block on the corner of the block..
I put the LS headgasket reverse so the little copper o-rings that hold all three layers weren't on the out side so the head didn't seal all the way (i can't believe i did that) aslo i cut the dowel pins about 1/4.. Everything is perfect now. thanks for all your help guys!
