Prolly been covered but i cant figure out the right term to search under, but i just popped in some 1000cc rochesters and it runs good and everything, but it ldles like a small block with a big cam in it. This is gonna be normal unless i get an injector driver right? Its on a B20 tuned with crome.

 

what injectors were in it before? sats p and h?
if you had sats there before, and are running p and h now, it is just a matter of time till the driver burns out. as far as a driver, some swear by them, some dont (because of the falure rate).

me = 1200's and a resistor box. they are fine.

 

no i had rc550's low impedance and switched to rochester 1000 low inpedance, got a resistor box out of a crx runnin em. The car runs good, id just has a lope to the idle.

 

Was the car retuned once the 1000cc were put in?

 

yep, the wideband is showing 15.00 under normal driving and 11.3-11.8 under WOT all the way to 7200rpm. And the timing was left untouched.

 

we idled 1000's with a resistor box like stock with crome. we idled 1600's ok and then i switched to an injector driver and seemed to go a lot easier making them idle.

What is your idle A/F? Try richening it up a bit. Also what are you plugs gapped to?

FJO injector driver its $190 and works great

 

i'd say it needs to be tuned a lil more. i've had two different tuners tune my DELPHI 1000cc's and the second tuner spent more time and did a great job. car idles like stock and starts right up without ever having to give it gas.

My crome doesnt have that in the options anymore. It used to and then it updated and its no longer there. That was my first thought.

never mind, i figured out the battery offset list. So can i just click on the PTE 1000cc option?

Yep, but is still may need some tweaking from there.

 

i got it to idle pretty well, its just every minute or so it kinda pops (open downpipe) and get a little rough for about 15 seconds.

no matter what you do it will have that little pop. ive tuned many cars on many injector sizes and they have a little pop specially if your running open dp or a 3" exhaust etc... the roughness too but that can be cleane dup in the battery offset options etc.. lots of ways to clean it up

 

well honestly i can live with it, it doesnt bother me. i just wanna be sure im not doin any damage or upsetting anything.

 

Its kinda botherng me now cause i get it all tunes and hovering around mid 14's on the wideband. and then ill go out 2 hours later and it eaither way rich or way lean. so WTF am i doin wrong, lol.

 

I'm not even sure if Crome's ECT and IATs work, because i could never get them to work like its supposed to, but i'd imagine those corrections need to be dialed in.
