Default Help pls.

i was driving my wifes 00 civic to work today and while merging on to the freeway the car bogs @ 4500 rpm. to me it seems like the fuel cuts off @ 4500 and then comes back on right afterwards. i was thinking maybe the vtec solenoid is bad? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

sounds like faulty plugs, wires or fuel filter. when was the last time you got a tune up?

Maybe a distributor issue (ignitor, etc.). Definitely not the Vtec Solenoid becasue Vtec engages at 5500, not 4000-4500. Is the check engine light on?

no thats the weird part NO CEL??? it just bogs out for like 2 seconds and then accelerate like normal. yea i dont think its the vtec solenoid anymore because omw back from work it bogged at 3000 rpm. iam stump! guess ill just have to change the fuel pump and sparks and see if it still bogs.

You don't have to change the fuel pump. Check the fuel pressure and fuel pressure regulator.
