Default V-tec sputtering

when v-tec engages it sputters really bad and feels like it is losing power. H22a4

took it down to les schwab, they told me some weird crap, so I have run it on a scanner, checked loose/tightness of belts...

5 Spd, thats the thing there are no CEL's... im completely lost, it drives perfect but when v-tec engages it will be fine untile about 6.5K then it sputters bad

check wires,plugs,cap and rotor. i had the same prob it ended up being my wires.

Don't forget the fuel filter, could be flowing enough at low RPMs but can't keep up with the fuel demands at the higher revs.
