Default help with boost gauge

well i am pretty new to turbo'd cars but when my car is off it goes to zero.i know that suppose to be right. i noticed though that when i turn up the boost manually(4-8 pounds) and push it hard i barely see it go past 0 on the gauge. isn't it suppose to read like 4 psi if i put it on 4 pounds? help with reading the gauge. thanks

i think it is 14psi spring. and i have a manual boost controller but i turned it 4 times from it being completely closed. because i rotation is 1 psi. so doesn't suppose to hit 4 psi when i drive it?

if you have it set properly at 4 psi, when you STEP ON THE throttle, it should go up to 4 psi

but if you arent puttin the foot to the floor, it wont go up to the boost level you're set at...
does your gauge have vacuum also?

is has vacuum i don't put it all the way to the floor i gas it till like 6rpm and it just goes at most 1psi in like 3rd gear. if i were to gas it will pass what i set it for? if it set for 4 psi can it go past that if i were to hit like close to red line? afarid of overboosting..or damaging my engine. help anyone...

TAKE YOU CAR TO A TUNER RIGHT NOW or you will end up with a blown motor real soon. btw, if you have a 14psi spring in your WG, you cannot control boost at 4 psi... once you get your boost problem figured out, you will be boosting 14psi and you can most likely kiss your motor goodbye real quick once that starts happening.

exactly...

if you dont put your foot to the floor, you wont boost... partial throttle it and keep it alive.. as long as you are in vacuum, no matter what RPM you are at, you arent boosting

first, does the car have a turbocharger installed?? if yes, is it installed correctly? if no, you dont need a boost gauge.

second, if you dont know what you are doing then dont drive the car. if you dont know how the boost controller works then take it off and learn how a wastegate works first, then try again.

if you think you have everything installed correctly then you arent boosting because there is a leak somewhere, find it and fix it.
