Default b series budget street set up. mystery parts. (dyno)

had a car on the dyno this morning, that i took for a drive after tuning it and it was a blast to drive, even on spring pressure.

ls block with eagle rods (customer did not know what bore size, what brand, or what compression pistons)

stock sleeves, stock head with springs-retainers-gsr cams

inline pro manifold

ebay intake manifold....which im pretty confident was hurting power

precision 1000cc injectors

hondata S300

3 inch downpipe with 3 inch crush bent exhaust

dyno is at 24 psi with very minimal timing. with a walbro pump the car began leaning out at this psi...the car blew charge pipes off serveral times so we called it a day. again this is the customers first time with a turbo car, and it should be a 10 second car on slicks. another fun daily driver.

the car actually made 385whp @ 10psi something on the set up is def. holding it back from making a lot more power, since it only made another 100 horsepower with an aditional 15psi of boost.

its an ls/vtec. torques a hair low but its not crazy low. it made a little over 300 ft/lbs with another 1.5 psi...but it got a little too lean

in the op he states "gsr cams" ... the torque is low imo, for that power..

good job Joe (and garage bitchs )

Torque is low because it spools up so late, what turbo is it?

Fun street car? I don't see how, really. You have to spin it past a stock sohc's redline to get full boost, meaning you have to downshift at least once, if not twice, for boost if you're already rolling.

But I guess not bad for a mystery combo. Hopefully they aren't cast LS pistons or something...

the spool time seems really low in that car. was that a 3rd or 4th gear pull?

turbo actually is a mystery as well. 67 maybe? it made great power at low boost, but it should have made more at higher boost levels. im sure it would have picked up a decent amount with more timing.

car felt like it had a B16 trans in it when i test drove it. the tranny gearing was tight enough that it didnt feel super laggy like the dyno sheet shows.

there was lots of room for improvement on the set up, he just got the car running and plans on addressing some of these things in the future.
