my civic (90 dx hatch d15) has been overheating, the hose going to the radiator is very hot and the hose going to the thermostat is not hot at all. we already replaced the thermostat but we think we got a bad one. it did not come with the thermostat seal....

i've heard that you dont need the seal... is this true?

and i cant find any!!

if u dont wnna hit the dealer up... autozone will have it... 4 bux if not silicone it...... i think thats what i used on my d series ......

 

done checked, nobody has it, advanced, napa, autozone... i may just end up ordering online but my question is.... can you do without?

 

chances are it isnt the thermostat..

its rare that when u buy one its bunk.

theres another problem probably. let us know how it turns out

 

ok, the fan housing was messed up... the thermostat still may be bad because it shouldnt have got that hot. this thread is over. we're looking at the fans now
