Default VX tranny and boost?

i just picked up a sohc d16z6 swap w/ vx tranny. i wanna boost it this spring but im thinking if i should swap a ex tranny in when i boost. will it help or not. with a vx tranny 2 gear can go up to 70 mph, and 3rd goes to 100+ mph. i think it will work well with turbo and it's more efficent at highway speeds.

i had a turbo d15b7 and now i have a d16z6. can i use the d15 oil pan on the z6?

You might want to reconsider the VX trans. Reason being unless if the motors fully built (even then) thats alot of boost stress on the motor which isnt a good thing. Shorter gears are better.

Im 95% sure all D series pans are interchangable directly minus the y8 which is aluminum and needs another gasket.

all is correct except, 88-95 non vtec oil pans are the same while 88-95 non vtec are differant. and of coarse all Y motors being differant again.

OP: oil pan wont work, and while the vx trans might be more efficient it will put alot more load on the engine and in the end could hurt mileage unless you do 90% highway just go with the ex final drive atleast.
