Default d15 vx

i just found a good deal on a junkyard turbo kit, i want to put in on my sohc 1.5 vx engine until i get my b18 swap, so my gears are super long and i think my second gear rides out to about 70ish mph, so my question is, is this tranny good for boosting? and how much boost should i run? i was thinking about 7-8 psi because what the search brought up showed me there are headgasket problems when boosting over or @ 10psi. and if anyone else has a vx turbo what kinda times are you running
