Got an oil restrictor on it already?

You can use 10w40 but thats only a bandaid, not fixing your problems

no they dont, some are formulated specifically for turbo/supercharged ingines and the heat they generate, i believe its is Mobile1 15 or 20w50, is the particular oil.

once 30 weight has been cycled thru a turbo for a bit, it goes from 30wt to damn near water, and with the amount of extra fuel most of our cars require it breaks oil down so much faster. i know my oil smells like straight up C16.

But if you start with something a little thicker, it will usually damn near thin out from the heat, to exactly where it needs to be.

you will hear alot of people in the N/A forums, say that 15w50 wont even get into our factory bearings, but i ran a built motor on it for over 4 years, just pulled it and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, 11 second passes for almost 4 years

i used to use 10w-40 with some lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer. kept a smoking setup going for thousands more miles, along with adding an oil restrictor

hey, honestly since i switched to mobil 1 synthetic extended performance with my turbo jdm gsr, my freinds noticed a little bit of blue smoke when i really gun it hard, my motor was compression and leakdown tested and the guy said that the motor is in better condition than most N/A gsr motors and i know the turbo is good. i noticed my oil was gettin thin and not soo oily after like 2-3 weeks in the motor so i started using mobil 1 synthetic extended performan 15w-50 and everything started runnin better, no more blue smoke and seems stronger and faster. try bumpin up the oil weight with thicker stuff should help.
