mouse in my distributor...squeaky noise from my jdm b16
Mine started squeaking right before it ate a rotor. The car started running like **** and when I pulled the cap off, the hole on the rotor where the screw should be was not over the screw anymore. I had to break the rotor off to get to the screw. I'm not sure exactly what its called, the little bushing/bearing on the shaft in the dist., was loose and was allowing the rotor to move while it was spinning.
I would check that to make sure you don't get stranded somewhere. Luckily mine went out a block from an Auto Zone.

I gurantee you if its loud now....you better just take it off and replace it now...My friends 96 civic did this, we knew it was the dist. but waited...well eventually it just didnt turn over..so we pulled it off and was ended up having to replace the whole rotor, cap, shaft...basically we got a whole new dist. it was like 350 but kinda a bitch to get since he has a D16y8..dropped in...but its all ****** rigged and we kept getting the wrong one after 2 times we finally got the right dist. and installed it...we checked out the old one 2 of the bearings were just fried the last like week of driving it he was only running good on like 2 cyl. WE put the new dist. in hooked everythign up set the timing to 18 degrees(yes I know thats to high for teh basic bolt ons he has) were putting it back down to 16...but he is jsut ripping **** up..like nothin now...
Fix it now...or else your gonna be in for a world of hurt...one shope quoted him 600 including labor thats why we did it ourselves
