Default Turbo makes loud whirring sound, Brand new?

Sup folks, just got done doin a turbo install on my buddy's F22. Took the car out for the initial test drive an its makin a "whirring" sound as it revs up and maybe a metal grind (but that could be other thing on the setup). Also, it wouldnt hit boost immediately (unless maybe the guage doesnt have a good vaccuum source) it will be going, at full throttle and all of a sudden i'll have 6psi. The sound definately seems to be coming from the center section of the turbo, it spins fine, its getting oil, and only has minimal normal side-side shaft play. But that noise is scary, almost like turnin on a mini-vac or somethin. Suggestions as to what it might be? I'm taking it apart right now and will post back, and have pics once i do that.

Heres the sweet vid http://media.putfile.com/This-turbo-is-hostingd

Took it apart. The turbine side wheel looks minty, half of the turbine housing looks darker than the other half, maybe heat issues? The compressor housing is fine, but some of the fins on the compressor wheel are slightly flattened at the edges like it was grinding the side of the walls. So that pretty much isolates the problem. Why might this have happened? the car ran for no more than 30 mins last nite, most of which was idle, and the engine and turbo were well primed, i cranked it over for a few mins before actually letting it start. Again turbo is brand new, from ebay, and its not a SS.

You sure it was not a rebuild? Is the Garrett tag red or green?

No Garret tag, turbo came from user Down2Turbo on ebay. Had another friend buy a turbo from him and has had no problems.

I didnt resize them so u could see, so here are thumbnails.
The darkness on the right side of the housing in the first pic, isnt shadowing, its just darker.

my turbo makes a "whirring" sound, but that's because i'm running open DP. so that's how the turbo sounds like. about the the noise that seems like it's metal grinding against something, try checking your gaskets. could be a little air leak from the wastegate or something

How do you know your getting enough oil? I used a restrictor adjuster, and if i turned it down too low, when i revved it up, it would do what yours did.
