Default AutoMeter Boost Gauge #6159 Gauge Install Question

Got the gauge in place, then got time to hook up the supplied MAP sensor and where did you run the plug through the firewall at? It came with a grommett but I dont see enough room to get a hole drilled for it. Got pics or decriptions of where yours was installed at?

In an Integra?

I put my map sensor right near the hood prop and there is a large rubber grommet with wires already running through it. There is plenty of room there.

This is a crappy pic, but the grommet is right where the yellow pyrometer wire is running.

Ditto, I just ran mine through the existing grommet.

One more ?. What did you wire the red wire to so the gauge calibrates each time correctly?

when i had them in my DSM i used a test light on the hazard switch...one of those wires should have constant power while cranking the car...you will just have to try it out

electric are more accurate and can read the boost faster

Response time on this gauge is extremely fast. I've never used a mechanical one before but I can tell you now that there's no worries with this gauge.

Ya, I was extremely impressed at how fast that little stepper motor can react. The cool thing is the gauge calibrates itself everytime you turn on the ignition.

For the red wire, I tapped into a wire that is going to the box that is used to reset the maintenance required light. or you could just tap into the ignition
