egt gauge question

egt gauge question
My Automoter egt gauge has about 5 feet too much wire as I have to loop it in the engine bay. Is it ok for me to cut this excess wire or is it needed for the gauge to function properly. Thanks.

Which wire do you have too much of...I would definately not cut the sensor wire, just loop it and wire tie it.....my AEM UEGO had about 10 feet too much wire and that is what I did. I have an unwired Autometer EGT and I am going to do the same thing if I have too much wire.
