Default got my pistons and rods in!! A few q's...

The rods are stamped with numbers. Do these numbers mean anything? Are the rods installed with those number sides facing toward the dipstick and are they installed in a certain order?

The pistons are CP and the valve grooves are deeper on one end, these are the intake sides right?

in my experience the rods are stamped 1-4 to make it easy to identify which is for which cylinder.

the larger valve reliefs are probably for your intake side - check your head and match up the valves. or refer to your stock pistons.

They are usually stamped so you can match up the bottom halfs to the correct rod. Also the bearing tangs face towards the exhaust side.

well, they already come assembled with matching bottom halfs. I was wondering if the stamp side is faced toward the exhaust side.

Honda Rods have 4 sizes the numbers stamped on the original rods are there to tell you what size the big end bore is.

Rods are not directional only pistons unless they are flat tops. The most important thing is to gap the rod bearings and the piston rings for your application.

the rods in question are eagle rods. By your replies, it seems as if it doesn't matter which way they go in just as long as bearing clearances meet honda specifications. Right?
