Is my turbo blown??
My To4E is about 2 yrs old, I drive my car only in the summer. Here's the funny thing.. I was planning to go tune my car again today. But there's not boost. And no it's not leak in the charge pipe. My turbo spins freely at idel and when you rev it up in spins faster. But I'm still not getting any boost. So I took off a charge pipe and cover it with my hand it and I had my brother rev up the car to got the turbo spool up. And I could still cover the charge pipe with my hand. Isn't it suppose to blow my hand off?? Is this **** blown....No oil coming out the exhaust side, no white smoke, or blue smoke.
The only thing I can think off, is that your wastegate might stuck open. Does your wastegate have continuous air coming out? Is your wastegate interal/external, check your spring, and opening. Other than that It sounds weird! If I spin freely, then your turbo should be just fine, I'm stumped!?
the waste gate is closed when the turbo is spinning at idle I can stop it with a small vaccum tube, should it be strong then that but I haven't tried it when I rev it up...
Its either a leak in oen of your charge pipes, your bov is stuck open, or soemthign along those lines. Does the turbo make a funny whining sound liek a ghost when you try to spool it up?
It takes exhaust gas energy to spool the turbo, reving in neutral won't do a whole hell of a lot for you. Hypothetically speaking, you could remove the hood from your car, sit on the valve cover, have your buddy drive it down the street full blast, and then put your hand over the charge pipe.
Note: I do NOT recommend doing this, as you may fall off the car and be run over, in which case, Darwinism applies.

Yes, engine needs load to create boost usually.

Yah it definetley needs to be driven to build boost, unless you have one of those tiny pretend turbos (AKA t25)</TD></TR></TABLE>
