I know if you advance to a point you will hear detonation, but what if I retard all the way? I am wondering this because I will be running 12:1 compresion pistons and I want to retard it all the way So I dont detonate. Good Idea or bad?

What are you using for tuning? With 12:1 compression, I hope you are using a stand alone. Let us know what your setup is so we can better help you.
