Default Ghetto ignition timing help.

Ok, I've been running my revhard setup for about 7 months without any problems,
and I realize that I have never retarded my timing.

I just read the HOW-TO on C-speedracing.com, and it seems straight forward on how to retard my timing just by turning the distributor.

My question is how do I know any timing besides what is marked on the crank pully? 0 BTC, 14, 16, 18 BTC are the only markings available.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but 18 BTC is 18 degrees advance timing?
On my setup (Revhard, 12-1 FMU, inline pump, stock everything else), what should
my timing be (on the safe side?).

if you really don't have access to a timing gun simply loosen the 3 bolts, and move that sucker AWAY from the windshied, and towards you about 2-3mm... that will retard it a bit. Better safe then sorry.. I just advanced mine this way from around 12degrees up about 2mm... dunno what the hell its at now, but its still lower then stock.

You can get timing lights with digital readouts that tell you the exact ignition timing advance. Or, there are others with advance/retard ***** that will delay or speed up the flashing of the light so that when you line it up with stock timing, it's actually X degrees advanced/retarded. 18BTC means your spark is happening 18 degrees before the piston reaches the top of its stroke.
