I think 350ish would reealy be pushing it with that one, esp on a d-series. Why? Lower rev capibility of d-series coupled with the turbing squeezing upper-rpm exhaust flow quite a lot. However I have no doubt it could produce a very big torque number (which is why seeing it on sr20's makes sense - those guys love spooling *off idle*). I think this would be an excellent turbo if you run around town with slicks. I'm unsure of the exchange rate, but I'd guess you could get a gt28rs for not much more, if not less.

i really dont get your point. if you would look at the numbers on this turbo it was rated by garrett to make 420hp where as the gt28rs is only rated at 350hp. so why would i be making big torque and no power on this turbo? im assuming that it would make more power than the RS. and ive riden a car with a gt2871 which is bigger than an RS and I was looking for something more after that.

i believe he confused the gt3240 with the gt25r, cause the turbo your thinking about getting power rating is a good 80hp more than what the gt28rs is capable of. I say good choice of a turbo for your goals, maybe even go with the gt3037r.
