oh, if you run an obd2 ecu you will deff get some check engine codes because the obd2 ecu will be looking for sensors that that engine doesn't have like a 2nd o2, a crank flucktuation sensor, nothing that will really hurt the engine, it will be drivable but an obd1 ecu would be needed to not have any codes.

yes all obd2 civic plugs fit into obd2 ecus, but you are going to be throwing mad codes because you are putting a obd1 engine in an obd2 car, obd2 systems have more components than obd1.

96-98 is obd2a and 99-00 is obd2b so how do they all fit. i dont think this guy knows what hes talking about.

is it a us or jdm itr ecu? u wont get any codes if u run the jdm itr ecu. it doesnt read crank sensor or knock i believe. if you use the first gen engine u need to change the injectors, distributor, and maybe the TB

okay... you are trying to put a obd1 engine in your obd2 car and you want to use an obd2 itr ecu. first you will have to update the sensors from the b16a engine. so that the obd2 ecu can read them or you will have check engine lights. but it looks like you have a **** load of finding sensors and replacing them on the older engine. good luck

saywhat's right

if he puts a obd1 engine, get a obd2->obd1 harness and run the proper ecu, otherwise he will get cel's, and it'll run like ****
