vtak engine? whats the diff in ex and dx coupe

 

its vtec. vtak is just what the cool people call it. im sure someone will come in here and give you the technical definition. but basically it gives more horsepower at higher rpms.

The actual word, or rather, acronym is VTEC. "vtak" is just people making fun of it since a lot of newbies think VTEC is god's greatest gift to man. So it's just a gag word.

EX and DX coupe was just explained in a post. EX has a slightly more power engine and is equipped with "vtak" (VTEC) and DX has a slightly less powerful engine and is nonVTEC. EX also comes with some interior goodies that the DX does not, otherwise they're similar cars.

 

VTEC (not v-tech, vtech, vtak or v-tec) stands for Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control. Basically, it reads oil pressure and engine load and, at a given RPM, it fuses the rockers that determine valve lift characteristics and they overtake the function, allowing more air and fuel into the combustion chamber per engine cycle. This results in more power or the commonly worshiped "VTEC rush".

 

vtak is crazy mad3 tight jdm for vtec, its about 15% more pow3r then usdm

C-ontrol
its what u want not some dx if you look at your valve cover you will see the soleniod on the passengers side of the cover somewhere {depending on what motor it is}

V-tak means you have a pansy-*** rice burner and you need to buy American muscle with an 8-cylinder engine (naturally aspirated or supercharged) running a minimum of 400bhp and thunderous rumble spitting out of its exhaust that would frighten away even the Krakon.
