Default Anyone have info on Ebay no name 50mm wastegates?

I am in the process of my new build and previously I ran a 38mm tial wastegate on a t3/t04e. I am stepping up to a gt35 turbo and plan to run whatever boost it takes to make 525-550 whp, so I will need a larger wastegate. Just checking b/c they are cheap, but I'm sure that probably means they are ****... just figured I might get lucky if you guys had any experience?

Try it out. Seen good results. Quality seems to be comparable to any other brand.

just because your tryin to make 500whp doesnt mean u have to have a bigger wastegate. a bigger wastegate is used to run lower boost levels not higher boost levels. so let's say your trying to run 7lbs on a t67, a 38mm wont cut it. but if u want to run a straight 30lbs on a 38mm wastegate with that t67 then it would work.

I spoke to a couple of guys and everyone seems to think the 38mm tial wont cut it, but I'm not so sure. I ran 16 psi before on a t3t04e, so i'm stepping up quite a bit to 22-25 psi on a gt35 but I think the tial can handle it, any other opinions on that?

when u raise the boost all that means is that less gas will have to be vented through the wastegate and more will have to be going to the turbo. what matters is how little of boost u want to run. so if that 38 can hold 10lbs with no problem then it can hold 100lbs at no problem, but it might not be large enough to vent enough gasses away from the turbo to run 5lbs. get it?

My friend is running the 50mm ssauto on his built ls/vtec It held at 10 psi rock steady with a top mount manifold and has held perfect at 15psi. The other gate he had on there spiked like crazy.

Never really thought about it, I just took what I heard from others for granted I guess, my dumbass mistake. It does make sense though, what about boost creeping up? If you're dialed in at 23 psi and it keeps creeping up? Isn't that the result of the gate not being able to dump enough air fast enough?

The manifold we are going to make, it's gonna be a full race topmount copy, probably 1 3/4 or 1 7/8" runners, and I have been running the Profec B spec 2, but I may switch to something for gear dependant boost after i get it together

if your gonna switch to a gear dependant boost controller then chances are u want to run lower boost in 1st gear to aide in traction so u would want a larger gate. so u might wanna go with the 46 or 50mm gate.

Yea, probably 10 psi or maybe even 8 in 1st...depending on the power it yields, but i'm gonna run 26" slicks, so I hope to be able to plant a decent amount of power in 1st and 2nd
