Its a stock 1996 GSR engine, I think the headgasket blew because it was blowing a lot of white smoke. The cylinder walls don't appear scored either.

Cylinder 4 in the picture looks as if it has metal shavings on it but they appear to be carbon because they crush when I grab them.

Cylinder 2and 4 also appeared to be more wet than the other 2.

Not sure, but isn't white smoke caused by coolant mixing in or is it water?

the smoke was defitnatly cause by coolant.

as you can see on the furthest left cylinder there is coolant chilling ontop of the piston....

the gasket doesnt look that great but its not broken...

what i think happend is that maybe the block or the head got warped a lil so it made a gap big enough for coolant to get into the cylinders... it looks like mainly on that left cylinder and possibly on the furthest right cylinder too cuase it looks wet...

i would rebuild this engine. these problems are only going to get worse.

That coolant looks pretty damn fresh, i'm betting it just dripped as he took the head off...

How was this running before you ripped it apart?

When was the car smoking? All rpm range or some? Also, how does the head look/block?

you can tell cyl. # 4 was getting water because its ccleaner than the rest. water in combustion chamber steam cleans.

Got the head looked at today and there is no warpage.

The engine was removed from another running obd2 integra of the same year and the coolant was brand new since i just installed the engine. The car was only run in the garage for about 10 minutes. I may have bought it with a blown head gasket already, I just don't know why it would have been blown...
