Just recently put stroked b20vtec in to my 90 crx hf. Finally got the car running and it seems to be stumbling upon hard acceleration. This problem is driving me crazy, have checked everything i could think of new ecu, dist., injectors etc. Even removed vafc and ignition box still happened. Problem only happens under load will free rev with no problem.

Setup is b20 with crower stroker kit 12.1 comp.
comp cams stage 3 with springs, ferra valves, edlebrock intake, ericks 70mm throttle body, cheap 4-1 header, lightened flywheel etc. etc.
Everything is whiteplug ecu- dist.
Please help driving me crazy

 

What kind of engine management (or lack thereof) are you running?

 

its a lack of, chipped b16 obd 0

 

Is your ignition and your cam timing accurate?

 

this heppened to me on my setup turned out i needed mds ignition.I went with the digital 6 re dynoed and had no problems ever since.

 

yeah i've double checked both.

 

have a digital 6 in the car, actually tried another one. Even removed the box and still same problem.

 

If it's not a tuning issue, i would check you ignition coil. On my previous B16 i had an MSD ignition and then sold it. Like 10k miles later, the motor was breaking up top, but not too bad. I change my engine coil and that solved the problem.

You can do several coil and ignitor tests. There is some good info if you search.
