Im just wondering what ecu is best to use for a 96-00 civic EK... OBD2a ecu!

I'm currently using a P72 gsr ecu OBD2a...

What's wrong with the P72? Just get a VTEC controller and tune it.

I just hate how all I have is torque... then vtec kicks in at 4800rpm.. then it just goes straight up to 7800rpm with ease... and I loose power cuz of the rev limit... thats all..

P28 chipped>anything else.

Just chip it and kill the rev limit.
My buddy running b20vtec sent his p28 out to "Erick's Racing" and had it chipped.

The torque is what keeps your car pulling through the gears, IMO far more important than hp. be careful not to overrev that bottom end. You can chip a p28 to be whatever you want it to be.

the thing is.. with a P28 I won't pass emissions.. since my car is Obd2a... thats the reason why I'm using a Obd2a P72 gsr...

I still say the best bet is the 96-96 sol vtec abs.........needle in a haystack ecu.
Its like an obd2a p30 or p2t

can't you use the obd2 ecu just to pass emissions, and use a chipped p28 to tune with. all you have to do is get the jumper harness and swap ecu's after inspection.

I was using a P73 ECU with my B20vtec. Allowed me to rev to 8,700 RPM. Vtec kicked in at 5,700 RPM though.

Correct. You cannot pass with an obd2 car and an ecu that'll read as an obd1 car.
I believe this is the correct answer.... but we dont have to pass anything in Omaha, so Im not 100%.

Nope, stock sleeves. Matter a fact it's even bored out to 85mm. Ran it with CTR cams and reved to 8,400k daily. It had over 10k miles on it before I pulled it out to sell the car.

sorry dude, you cant use CTR pistons in a B20 block. revving over 7,800rpm its likely to blow.
