DOHC VTEC ecu question
I have an b16a with a chipped ecu(Chrome) and I want to grt rid of it for future plans.....plus its not doing anything much but alter the vtec start and stop time....This question is just for safe knowing....if I pull that ecu out and replace it with a oem ecu there will be no problems?...or will a vtec controller work with a chipped ecu? Thanks

Re: DOHC VTEC ecu question (Padawan)
Chipped ecu's are better than vtec controllers/ stock ecu's. It's all based on the ROM or internal memory of the ECU. CROME is a nice program, and CHROME is a shinny color.

Yes, but as long as you can find somebody who burns EPROMs (which should not be remotely difficult), it's unnecessary.
The only advantage of a VTEC controller over a chipped ECU is the pretty lights and buttons.
