i purchased a gsr rear sway bar for my del sol... the bushing around the bracket connecting to the control arm looks broken apart. how long do bushings usually last for? what would happen if i do not replace it? thank you.

They do wonders. I am replacing all bushings now.

just replace the bushings with some poly ones and you'll be fine. if you don't replace them, they'll eventually crack and you'll have loss in handling due to added looseness.

It all depends on what kind of elements your car went through like salt and things of that nature. Its not that hard to repalce your bushings you could usr a tourch and burn them out and cut out the metal surrounding the bushing with a hack saw or take it to a shop that has a hydrolic press and get them pressed out. For new ones I would go with energy suspension and you can put them in your self. If you dont replace them and there worn out your car will handle like crap

The hardest part to replacing bushings is getting your old ones out. Burning them takes forever and you'll be lucky if you can hammer them out. If yours are all busted up, you might be able to get them out. Pressing ES bushings in is really easy, you can do it with your hands.

Those bushings are only a few bucks. Might as well replace them now. You car won't handle any worse than it does without the swaybar, but you don't want the swaybar bushings to fall out either.

I used a hydrolic press to remove my bushings. Forget hammering them out. My car is from Michigan. The bushings were seized.
