Default DC2 aftermarket rotors

I want to change all 4 the rotors to bigger ones, mostly for the looks. Are there good aftermarket rotors available for a reasonable price, which can be installed without caliper, etc, replacement?

Thanks.

Well, you're honest. Looks are the best reason to get bigger brake rotors on the ITR. The stock ones stop the car pretty well.

You can't get bigger diameter rotors with the stock calipers, they just won't fit. If you're looking for the 'bling' factor, get either NSX calipers and paint them, or Spoon calipers. There's also a "Spoon" caliper clamp-on thing that goes on the stock caliper to make it look like you have Spoon calipers I doubt that's what you're looking for though.

Good luck,
Chris

p.s. This is for an Integra Type R, right? If not, I don't know what calipers bolt up.

Thanks guys.

So it's going to be a rotor AND caliper change. I'll check the links, do some reading about this.

Yep

If you're going to a larger diameter, you may find yourself limited in wheel choices (or just plain moving up to 16" wheels).

Just get smaller wheels, then the rotors will look bigger.

leave ur brakes alone. sell ur car. buy giant rotors and calipers that will satisfy your blingging needs, and put them on a matchbox micromachine. thumbup:

You mean like the ones with the fake brake rotor behind them?

OK, but here's the thing.. Why else would you get bigger brakes on an R?

He's honest about it, for all we know he's building a show car, it's not up to us to judge what people want to do with their cars.

To paraphrase another ******* in this forum, "It's just a shitbox economy car." He can do what he wants with it, why would you tell him to sell it? This isn't God's gift to automobile racing, it's just a hot economy car that comes well tweaked from the factory. If you really can't see that, you're blind (Type R Love is blind, hahaha)

Truly,
Chris

im not an *******. i was kidding, while being a smartass. it is his car, he can do what he wants. btw, i don't think his car is an R. either way, the R is a shitbox made race. i see my R for what it is, a quick car that handles great. i'm not trying to start an argument.

to the guy: i know nothing about rotor/caliper sizes and fitting, but im sure some people on here do. think about performance and safety (if that concerns you at all) before you go making bling adjustments that may change the feel of your car.

edit: i realized you didnt call me an ******* ( i dont think) after re-reading

I agree-- I was actually referring to myself. [edit, after your edit, yep.]

Awesome point... for instance, braided brake lines fail, a lot. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1199349

And, if you don't fully understand the effect of changing caliper piston size, rotor size, and brake bias, you can impact your stopping distance very negatively.

exactly, the negative performance that can be the result of modifying something for "show", like 18 inch rims on an R would just make the car drive like junk compared to little 15's for example, is why i responded with the sarcasm that i did. however, its his car, so he can light it on fire with a match and gasoline if he so desires.

to the guy, again: if your going to make these mod's, do alot of research first. good luck on your quest to rotor bling. Hell, if you find a way to upgrade performance and bling, i may follow in your footsteps one day.

Yes, I want to change the looks of my rotors and calipers. I do have an itr (dc2, 1999), with 17 inch rims. I'm thinking of the NSX caliper/legend gs rotor setup for the front at least. I'm not sure about the rear. I would like NSX calipers all around.

I saw LOTS of info about this setup here, so I'm going to read all of it and decide then. Hopefully there's also some info, real experience, about the "feel" of the car with such a setup.

Don't change the fronts to a larger ones unless you do the rears as well.

Here's why:

Hmm, thanks for the link.

So, if the front is the NSX caliper + Legend GS rotor setup, what choices do I have for the rear to keep the best balance?

I have the oppurtunity to buy a set of '91 nsx front + rear calipers (including brakelines and brackets if necessary for the assembly on the itr).

I have a european Honda Integra Type R.

Will this be a good setup?

Na1 NSX calipers
95 Legend GS rotors

Is this just a simple caliper/rotor swap?? Can I use the itr brackets or the nsx brackets?

Also, you probably could have tried looking in one of the NSX brake links that Koala Yummies posted already.

First of all: I got an instant message; I couldn't (aren't allowed yet to) reply unfortunately, I think because I'm still a trial user. Anyway, thanks for the info OUTKAST.

Okay, I read most of the info about this subject, nsx caliper / legend gs rotor brake setup.

After reading the material, there were some unclear facts:

Is the european itr (my car) different in terms of brake setup dimensions compared to the us itr?

Do I need the nsx lines and nsx brackets or can I use the stock itr lines and brackets for the setup?

Can the stock itr bracket can be used to mount the nsx caliper?

Are there any bolt fitment issues??

Is there yet anything more I need to mount this setup??

I have:

7x17" rims, offset 40, hub 5x114.3

could this be my setup:

1991 nsx calipers
1995 legend gs rotors 28mm thickness
stock itr brackets (?)
1 washer (2mm) per caliper bracket bolt to "shim"
stock brakelines
stock brakepads

If you guys could help me with these questions, plz

Thanks.

It depends on how much you want to spend.
There is:

AEM
Rotora
Stoptech
Brembo
Endless
Mugen

??? how much do you want to spend?

IGGY, what do you mean?

I can buy the nsx calipers for about $350. Remains the legend gs rotors and the rest of the parts I mentioned above.

Come on guys, forget about the "bling" factor and the fact that this subject has been discussed in past and help me out.

Hi Sander,

Met z'n tweeën is nog steeds origineel toch? Trouwens, je hebt gelijk wat de samenstelling betreft.. het is zeker niet zo makkelijk.

Denk je aan verkopen van je klauwen dan?
