Someone please inform me of the significant differences of a 2000 Honda Civic Cx and Dx model. Also i was wondering if the cx models have power steering?

talkin about hatchs right, the only for sure differnce i know is that the CX doesnt have a rear wiper... ehh its a differnce haha

like the others said , the spoiler is different and the dx has a cargo cover. I know all of the AT models had power steering and I bet some came with it as a dealer option.

 

well "blaster" i think your kinda wrong on that one...i have a 98 cx hatch and my bro has a 96 cx hatch and he was a rear wiper..the only diff. i see between CX and DX is that DX comes stock wit A/C and CX doesnt...the only way CX will have A/C is if its been put in...we have 3 ek hatches in my family (2 CX, 1 DX) so im pretty sure thats the only diff. between them...

 

I don't think A/C was an option for CX, but for the DX it was. Power steering was also optional for both trims. Aside from that I can only think of the spoiler and rear emblem being different

 

Differences that I know about:

- DX has a tach
- DX has a longer stock rear spoiler
- DX had 14" steelies from factory

Everything else is the same I believe.

BTW, my DX never came with AC.

 

cx is a hell of alot liter. then the dx

dx's never came with a tach

I used to have a 2000 DX. No tach, and I had AC.

 

I have a 96 cx and a 98 dx.
both have a/c both have power steering neither have a tach. both have cargo covers. the only differnce that I see is the cx has no rear wiper and the spoilers are different. I think that they might have come with different radios but not sure both had aftermarket cd players when I bought them. they were both automatic when I bought them too soo that might make a difference in features.

Maybe it's a Canadian thing... All DXs here have Tachs

They both had 14 inch steelies. DX's had hubcaps and CX's didnt

Not in Canada anyways, we had unpainted 13" steelies for the CX, and "hub capped" 14 steelies for the DX.

The 2000 DX special edition had 14" alloys and a mid spoiler on the hatch (oh and body coloured mouldings)

 

Thanks for the information guys, I was most concerned about the power steering issue since I heard that the Cx model doesnt have power steering, and the know ac diff is kinda . If they are both basically the same except for a few more un-needed options i guess the Cx sounds better since Icey112 said it was lighter.
