96-00 Civic CX vs. DX (EK - Hatchback)
I could never find out the exact difference between the two models... I was told the DX has the option for A/C and power steering while the CX does not... That couldn't be true because I've owned two CX model Civics that both had A/C and power steering... I currently own a DX that doesn't have A/C and power steering... So what are the main/trues differences between a CX and DX? There has to be a real reason as to why Honda made two different trims...
What I know or was told by others:
- A/C (optional on CX, optional on DX)
- Body colored rear spoiler (not available on CX, standard on DX)
- Power steering (optional on CX, optional on DX)
- Radio (optional on CX, standard on DX)
- Rear wiper (not available on CX, standard on DX)
Also noticed the CX was much lighter than the DX... Having a body colored rear spoiler and a rear wiper couldn't be the main difference between the two... That wouldn't make any sense... Any difference when it comes to engine and transmission? I know the 92-95 Civic hatchbacks had a lot of differences between the CX and DX... So does anyone know? Any help would be much appreciated!

The DX had a rear cargo cover. CXs had silver steel wheels with center caps, DXs had steel wheels with full hubcaps. There are other differences but I can't seem to think of any right now

I believe that CX/DX with manual never had P/S as an option.
I know this is wrong because I have an auto CX with factory P/S I bought new from the dealer.
For the same year, I know of no engine/transmission difference between CX/DX. I looked on both cars and the Helm as well.
