Default Blow off valve leaking? No boost.......

hey whats up, i have a 2000 honda accord 4cyl with a t25 turbo that has all the works... IC 440 injectors running afc hack... ya i know... anyway I had a problem with the car stalling out occasionally when I would come to a stop and put in the clutch. I decided to turn the idle up, so that it wouldent bog down as much... it did work, or at least for now, the only problem now is that im not getting any boost. It sounds like all the air is going through my blow off valve, but it can't be because i have a boost gage feeding directly from my manifold and its still showing the set (5psi) how could this be? I still hear the turbo spooling up and the air and everything but when i let off the gas all i hear is this ****** annoying fluttering sound which I assum is the BOV. The BOV does not leak air while the car is idling and i have even tried tightening it up to the max and its still doing this bullshit. The idle is at about 800rpm... any ideas?

first of all, where is your boost guage measuring boost from? intake manifold?

well if you have positive pressure in your intake manifold, but you aren't feeling the boost, you may have a bigger problem (bent valves or the like) that is keeping the compressed air from staying compressed in the combustion chamber...this seems fishy to me...anyways, is the turbo still hitting full boost at the same rpm range or no?

it seems to me that if your bov was leaking, your intake manifold wouldn't be reading as much boost, nor would it be able to hold the boost...can you give us some more details to better diagnose your problem?

I figured out what was wrong.... but it dosen't quite make sense.....like I said before, I turned up the idle via the little screw on the throttle body because my car was stalling out at idle from running too rich (afc hack). It seemed as though when i was shifting, after i would put in the clutch I would get a little rev spike of about +500 rpm, this is why my bov was not really blowing off. Why i wasn't getting boost i am not sure, but i turned the idle back down and everything is back to normal again... weird...

Oh yea, I just bought a brand new f23a4 I found some internals that will stiffen it up a bit and change the compression to 8.5-1 the guy says if I add some eagle rods ($700) to the package I will be able to run 30psi.... i'm also getting a port and polish.
kit comes with:
Complete Gasket Set
Cometic Head Gasket
ROSS/Wiseco Pistons
(86, 86.5, 87, 88mm bore) and
(8.5-1, 9.5-1, 10.5-1, 11.1-1 comp ratio)
Performance Rings
Performance Wrist Pins
TOGA HP Main Bearings
TOGA HP Rod Bearings
Thrust Washers
Timing Belt
Expansion Plugs

I will be upgrading to forger aluminum pistons...
oh and of course i have an aem ems on its way
tell me what u think?

is this all with stock sleeves? if so, you won't be able to go 30 psi...

That fluttering sound that you are hearing is called "compressor surge". It's from the bov not opening. What is happening is when you let off the throttle instead of the air releasing out of the bov like always. It's going back through the system and going out of the turbo. The flutter sound is when the air is hitting the wheel in the turbo that is spinning in the opposite direction that the air is coming from. Understand??

Get a new bov and your problem should be fixed
