Default Kinda bent waste gate...

hey guys. ive got this old magazine of hondatuning (forgot the issue number) where they have a guide to help you install cheap dsm turbo parts into a crx. anyways, on the last part of the guide, it states that if you bent the wastegate in a little towards the turbo, you could lower your psi down. the turbo was a t-25 set at 12 psi. after the guys in the guide bent the wastegate towards the turbo(about .25), they got it to run about 5 or 6 psi on a stock d15. can anybody verify this?? the reason im asking is because i install my turbo kit on this past weekend and when we bolt the exhaust manifold back on, the wastegate got bent a little bit (more than .25) towards the turbo. i was just curious to see how this would affect performance. im using a rhb5 set at 8psi internally wastegated.

By bending the dashpot in, you're essentially shortening the 'throw' of the actuator....letting the same boost level now open the flapper wider and sooner than it normally would.
