Default New turbo install not BOOSTING!

Hey guys, I just finished with my first turbo install and I am still not boosting. I have a garrett t25 with an external wastegate and I have all my lines where I should. I have a 6mm vacuum running from the outlet of the turbo to the charge piping connected to the side port on the wastegate. I don't have anything attached to the top vacuum port of the wastegate as from what I understand, this port is optional for boost control. With the engine running I can place my hand over the intake hole of the turbo and the I can feel the vacuum very strongly, so I don't believe there are any leaks in the charge piping. The turbo doesn't spin at idle but it does start to spin under acceleration. It doesn't seem to spin that quickly but it does spin. On a test drive the boost gauge never registered anything over 0. I bought this used from someone who had just taken it off from his setup running 15 psi. I am curious if this has something to do with the wastegate or something I haven't done right. Anyone have any ideas?

if it has a t25 turbine housing, and you're running an extenal w/g, what did you do about the internal w/g flapper?

would like to see pics of the setup. in and out of the car.

either way if it worked for him and its the exact same as when you put it on your car, then wastegate is probably just staying open and letting all the exhaust gas around the turbo.

have you checked for leaks in the i/c pipes? you can pressurize the system using compressed air. if you have no boost, you either have a leak, or your w/g isn't closing.

Well, I haven't pressurized the system to check for leaks but like I said, I can hold my hand over the turbo intake and the engine will almost suck my hand in before it cuts off from lack of air. I think it might be something with the wastegate but I haven't touched anything having to do with that since the guy took the kit off his car and put it on mine.

phew, judging by your name i thought you put a t25 on an H22. thank god you didn't

what do you mean by your vaccuum hose goes from the turbo, to the piping, to the wastegate??

it should go directly from turbo to wastegate

Damn that is a big as ground connector.

Where is the Vacuum hose hooked up to for the boost guage?

Also did you check the clamps to make sure it's nice and sturdy?

Did the turbo spin freely by hand when you installed it?

It should be spinning even at idle...

yes it spun freely. I believe the car will boost now but I can't really try it. I have a chipped p28 ecu with hondata s200 and when I plug it in my car runs like *** and smokes like a freight train. It won't rev above a certain rpm. I heard that the p28 will run in limp mode with a non-vtec cause of the missing vtec solenoid and oil pressure from that. Is this true? I am running on my stock p06 but I can't go into boost right now.
