Default will this turbo satisfy my needs..............

just wandering how this setup will run?
proposed setup:

b18a(stock)
450 dsm's
walbro 255
tial 35mm
manifold ?
dsm smic
tuned with turboedit
garret t3 .42/.48

i know it's not a huge turbo, but i'm a noob to FI. all i want is a quicker car, thats fun to drive. i plan on tuning to 8-10 lbs. i'm not shooting for HP goals, b/c whatever it turns out to be i'll be happy. thoughts?

thanx

I have a similar turbo on my car, and love it. You really don't need the external wastegate, stick with the internal for now.

beepy has a kia rio, he did all of the work himself so i'll let him tell you more. I wouldnt expect alot top-end wise from a t3 of that size

yeah, i know it won't be the best, but low and mid range should spool quick right?
i thought i've read that full boost should come around 3k-3.5k, true?
how about the internal gate issue, will it suffice? i'm kinda worried about creep w/ the internal gate. i'm going to get a quality manifold though, so i should'nt have any problems from that. how about porting internal gate for better flow? can i just grind it away around the hole(like a funnel, kinda)?

thanx for the help.

low and mid should be amazing with that turbo.

yes you can port the wg hole, just make sure not to port it too much and make the hole bigger than the flapper, while you are at it, you could modify the flapper and tack on a bigger flapper thingy.
