Default This is probably a stupid question...Internal/external wastegates

I am switching my car from a greddy setup with a 18g to a garrett t3/t4...When I bought my new turbo it is set up for an internal wastegate. I am starting to figure out that I am going to have a hard time fitting the turbo on the car with the internal wastegate, but will my turbo work with a external wastegate or do I need a new housing on the turbo without the hole for the wastegate...sorry if this is a stupid question but I need to figure it out! thanks

You should be able to take the actuator and arm off, and then just weld the flapper shut and be fine.
