Default $100 is gonna satrt my turbo setup

For that much I'm getting a 2nd-gen Eclipse turbo, a B-series turbo manifold, and a downpipe. This I plan to run on my GSR hatch. I'm getting this from a friend so everything is okay and legit. I was just wondering what is the turbo in the 2nd-gen Eclipse and who has used it or is using it. I am also plannnig to plug the external wastegate and just run the internal wastegate. Is that a good idea? I'd get an external WG but I'm on a budget. Any feedback on my setup is appreciated.

The T25 is a little small but you will love the spool time, almost instant.

Check the site in my sig if you want a bit more info.

RGAZ - or others who know. if i am trying to build a custom kit using the same T25 turbo do i absolutely NEED to have an intercooler? I only want to boost like 5lbs or so. nothing big. I noticed that on your website you built a turbo setup pretty cheap, was the intercooler necessary? I know some say no if you don't plan on getting crazy.,..,

thanks

Nah... I ran without an IC for awhile at around 6 psi or so. However I had some weird results with it; around VTEC crossover it would get completely gutless; I think maybe the VTEC ecus are very aggressive about the intake air temperature. But you can ALWAYS run without an IC and add one later. To be perfectly fair I had fuel management problems as well so the lack of IC may not have been THE problem, but when I put my IC on things got a lot better.

A TDO5h aka (14b) on the 1g DSM's is actually a fairly large turbo. it is bigger then most T-3 turbos on factory cars... not including (T-bird/GN) But alot bigger then the Saab/Volvo/Nissan T-3 turbos. The t-25 turbo on the 2g DSM is a pretty small turbo, much like the small T-3 turbos. It spools very fast, even on a stock D-series motor.

A GSR with a 14b turbo should work pretty well together, hardly any lag at all. I have lots of friends with DSM's pushing 18psi on these turbos.. They pull pretty hard.

I am currently using a 14b on my Mini-me setup. Check out my page
