36...hm isn't that the soft code for TCS...do you have a JDM ecu with 4 plugs?

don't worry about the 36...it's a soft code for traction control you'll always get it when you blow codes....it doesn't affect anything.

Anyways, if you can read you will see the CKP which is in the distributor..and the VTEC solenoid is a problem...reset the ecu and see if it comes back.

get the distributor and solenoid checked out by someone that knows what they are doing...here are some probable causes http://www.hondaprelude.to/art....html

A helms would be handy for you to buy if you want to walk through the diagnostic procedure.

probably a wiring problem on the solenoid. It should only trip 21 when attempting to open VTEC. However, code 22 (VTEC pressure switch) will trip on startup if there is a wiring fault. If its tripping 21 at idle it could be the solenoid itself like satan said.

other than that u will need a new Dissy (for code 4), i have a USDM external coil type lying around if u want it, new igniter installed also.

i was throwin 21 and my problem was i had the wires going to the opposite pins. I switched em and it worked fine. I wasn't throwin a code for the pressure switch even though it was plugged into the wrong pin. the soleniod goes to a4 and the pressure switch goes to d6. there's a black wire coming off the pressure swtch which is just a ground, i grounded mine to the negative batt terminal.

borrow a normal non-TCS P13 from someone and verify that the ecu is not bad. First time starting it up?

sorta....we started it with the stock single cam ecu and we thought that was the problem for it runnin messed up...after we put the jumper and the p13 still the same thing...car runs but acts like it has no power at all...sometimes it wont rev past 3 1/2 RPM...

We Dont Have Another P13 To Borrow From Anyone..Let Alone The Money For A New One!

I have the same problem, but on a SOHC. The car has no power and it wont rev up past 3500rpm's. This is because of the crankangle sensor (Code 4). I have tried to fix mine, because i know my problem has to do with the wiring. There is a short somewhere, but i havent found it yet. You might try using a distributor that you know is good in your car and if this cures the problem then your distributor is at fault. If you have access to a multimeter, let me know and i can tell you what to check to verify if your distributor is bad. Hope this helps. Let me know if you fix your problem.
