Code 91 has nothing to do with that. In your case, someone spliced into the ignition circuit.

A code 91 are a bit annoying to diagnose. They could something as stupid as a faulty gas cap, or something a more relevant. What is happening is that the ecm has detected low voltage from the fuel tank pressure sensor.

DO this first:

reset your ecm (disconnect battery) and start car with the gas cap off and see if this happens again. If so, then you will need to start the troubleshooting procedure to find the fault. Best thing would be to get yourself a manual. If not, come back here.

have you also checked your fuel filter. also check your air filter. if either one of those are dirty it can cause a lean condition which will set that code. has it stumbled lately or is this just aproblem that started overnight. ususally a fuel problem will make itself noticable early on with poor milage, stuttering, rough starts, etc...

I've had that problem with the electrical load detectoron my friends 99 si.. The car would start but then the battery would die and not charge.Do you have a after market header on a ek?? If u do then its the secondary o2 wires touching on the bottom heat shields by the cat.. Thats what i found to be the problem.

We've changed everything fuel related. Car ran fine before putting in built motor. I've heard many others with the same problems after doing a y7/y8 mini me.. Currently using y8 ecu and stock dx harness wired for vtec and changed over from 3 wire to 2 wire at the ivac plug..It's in a 97 cx..Still using y7 dizzy but i dont think that would cause this problem??

Bump for this guy

But no
It's a LS in an 93 CX.
I know what the problem is, it's the distributor without a doubt. I had the stock civic dizzy strapped down cause I wanted to make sure it ran, it also threw code 5, MAP sensor. But I got it all worked out.

Sorry I can't help with the original therad posters question, I dont mess with OBD2 vehicles and/or D series, but it's a free bump.

You are missing a sensor in the gas tank that monitors fuel pressure. The EXs have these sensors while the 96-98 DXs don't.
