i changed the head gasket on my b16a, and now my car wont run. I thought it was the main relay because the fuel pump wasnt turning on, and i replaced it and that wasnt it. when i tried to start it my window control box fried, and this is were im at now. help....

 

is it cranking at all?? check fuses under hood and underdash. Check all grounds, starter positive lead

 

it cranks, but there isnt any spark, or fuel. i dont think im getting power to the ecu.

 

check the fuse under the hood for the ECU, it should be a 10 or 15, also check the back up fuse, make sure the connections between the car harness and the ECU aare good. You have not by chance replaced the key ignition wiring harness? Sometimes the pins need to be moved around for everything to work, if someone bought one for a different model honda.

 

ive checked the ecu fuse and its good and i havent changed the ignition, could i have shorted something out.

 

Do you hear the fuel pump priming , when the key is turned to start position, not cranking but acc2 position

the car was running and you changed the head gasket and it wont fire? Is this correct? . It sounds like a ground from the engine to the frame. I had a similar issue with my crx and that what it ended up being.

 

The pump should still prime , but good call I hate that damn tranny ground

 

it wasnt the ground either

 

turn the key to the run position and open the cover of the fuse box, pinch the sides of it and see if you hear the fuel pump prime.

 

i took everything out to take out the fuel pump, i took out the fuel pump and tested it and it works. i checked all the fuses, relays. should i follow all the wires and see if they are mest up.

 

check power to your main relay.

 

if i dont have power to the main relay, what does the mean

 

Check the fuse for the battery and ignition under the hood. Stupid question but is the battery connected tight and connected correctly?
If there is no power to the main relay then there is most likely no power to the ECU , check to see if you are getting power there. I think it is like the last couple of pins on the plug A are 12V constant

 

check the fues labled ACG under the dash. Mine blew one time and I didn't get spark or fuel (I ended up shorting out the circuit one time with a fuel cut off switch)

 

How about where your engine harness grounds to the thermostat housing?

I've seen fuel pumps not work because that ground is off.

 

I would check your grounds. Make shure they are tight then retrace your steps of pulling the head, fuel lines, electrical connections, you may want to also check EVERY fuse in you fuse boxes, it sounds stupid but maybe you just missed a small connection or ground.

 

were is the ACG fuse at, i know it is under the dash, but which one is it.

 

there are the cluster of all the fues in the center, then up top there are 3 or so other ones. It is a 15 amp fues.

 

spark plug wires on dist might be put on wrong

 

in the fuse box in the engine bay there is a (option fuse) what does it control

 

i just went to look for the ACG fuse and there wasnt a fuse there, so i put one in and it blew. does that mean i have a short somewhere.

 

I would assume so. What amp fues did you put in there? Should be a 15amp fues
