Make sure the slider that chooses hot/cold is connected and actually opening/closing what it's supposed to. You can see where it connects right behind the IM on the firewall...

Well, that's probably what's wrong is that for some reason the selector is not going where it needs to. Check the thing on the firewall, and then pull out your climate control box and you'll probably see the problem

probably not the heater core.....you definitely have a problem with the slider and cable.....

its funny how many of these posts are popping up now that were freezing our asses off.....do you guys never move the slider the rest of the year, or were you just too lazy to fix it then and now youre shivering.....

I just had the same problem and fixed it, sort of, anyway. My cables were all out of whack so i just disconnected the one going to the firewall under the glove and manually opened the heater valve inside the engine bay on the fire wall to the position that lets the coolant circulate and I am good to go. I had to take a long pole and just pushed it to the correct position..

Funny, i had a similar problem. when i would slide the hot/cold over to hot, it would spring back over to cold as if it were spring loaded. After taking apart the whole climate control to "adjust the cables" i found out that it was just that i needed to spray some WD-40 on the heater valve in the engine bay.... it had been stuck open and just needed a little lube. anyway, 2 hours of my life were spent taking apart something that ended up being a 10 second fix... i dont know if this is your problem but for any people who may have the same problem with winter coming up, check that first.

Its held in place with a screw with a big washer on it. I have seen it happen and when it does it wont let you go all the way to cold. Remove the radio and look @ the bottom of the CC, you'll see it. I just replaced my cable with a new one.....it's sooo smother now </TD></TR></TABLE>

i'm having the same problem. My defrost works, but nothing else. Not even the side mirrors. I found out it was my fuse box...no power was going to some of the fuses. no idea why...or how it broke.
