Problem with heater in my EG...HELP
OK so it's been like no higher than 30 degrees for the last few weeks here in MD and my heater is acting weird. The heater blows out cold air when the car is idling no matter how long the car has been running whether it be 2 minutes or 2 hours. However it does blow hot air when the car is driving. But as soon as I stop again...cold air. What could be wrong? And yes...I have the temperature set all the way towards hot.

you could tighten the cable that is connected to your temp tab in the climate control thats what i did to mine so it would blow warmer air and then when summer comes agani and you use ac just loosen it so its colder

Any other things that could be causing this besides bad heater core and the thermostat?

Hey guys, mechanic is here, your problem souns like that of a low coolant situation, I would double check that. What happens is that the coolant flow slows at low RPM's causing not to flow through the heater core and not creating any heat. If this is not the case I would reccomend flushing the system, there my be some blockage.

Re: Problem with heater in my EG...HELP (reward_1000)
i agree with reward, check the coolant and see if it blows hot air while stopped but reving above idle.. looks like the coolant is not circulating thru the system.. maybe the water pump is going bad also.. the same thing happend to my friend recently.. no coolant.. hope that helps

Re: Problem with heater in my EG...HELP (hadehatch)
i checked the coolant a few days ago, full to the top of the rad and res. my waterpump is also brand new from honda, i do believe air in the coolant system may be causing my problem. time to bleed it i guess
