z6 manifold on vx??
i recently put a z6 intake manifold on my vx... i also switched the wiring harness to an si and changed to a p28 ecu... the car starts and throws no codes but it runs like ***... it misfires horribly and eats gas... ive checked everything i can think of... new plugs, wires, changed injectors, checked cap and rotor, tried different ecu's... anyone have any ideas??
I ran a VX longblock with Z6 intake manifold and p28 ecu and had no problems. Except the vtec crossover was 4800 rpm instead of the 2xxx it's supposd to be. Car felt fast for a second when it crossed over
yeah i noticed the ports on the vx head are alot smaller than the ports on the z6 manifold but i didnt think it could cause so much trouble
its throwing an o2 sensor code now... since the vx is a five wire and i converted it to a 4 wire do i need to re-pin anything on the ecu side of the harness?

Umm, your not trying to run that 4 wire off the VX ecu, are you?

WHAT? Seriously man, if you don't know what your talking about, don't post.

yes. you have to move a pin on the vx wire harness for the o2. check this thread out https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=644434

yeah i found this in another thread... the car is fixed now... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=295330 ... most of this thread is useless except for the diagram by civicminded92 ... props to him
Check the knowledge base...I did a consolidated write up there:

thats cool... i already got it fixed so im not really looking into in too much more... i wasnt knocking on you personally... the only info i needed was the diagram he wrote up... most of the rest of it was you hacking the crap out of a harness lol... good to know you got it fixed though
so how does the car feel? more power? I would think the gains would be minimal since the VX head has such small valves. and swaping a z6 head would lower the C/R to ****.
its alot better... it actually feels kinda fast when vtec engages... but its still slow... but not bad for just swapping in some parts that i had lying around... and i learned something
