Default Complete OBD1 B18C1 into Civic VX Wiring instructions.

This thread is to end all of the confusion about wiring a USDM b18C1 into a VX civic using the VX shock tower harness connected to the GSR engine harness.

WIRING A 1995 OBD1 B18C1 INTO A 1994 VX CIVIC USING A USDM P72 ECU

LOCATE THE 6 PIN PLUG BELOW ON THE PASS. SIDE VX SHOCK TOWER

The wires are in the following order:

ORG/BLU BLU/GRN WHT/BLK

BLU/YEL WHT/BLU YEL/WHT

REMOVE THE FOLLOWING WIRES FROM THE 6 PIN VX PLUG

ORG/BLU - O2 SENSOR

BLU/YEL - KNOCK SENSOR

LOCATE THE 10 PIN PLUG PICTURED BELOW THAT IS ON THE VX SHOCK TOWER

The wires are in the following order:

BRN/BLK EMPTY BLK/RED

ORG WHT ORG/BLU WHT/BLU

BLU/GRN BLU/YEL EMPTY

REMOVE THE RUBBER PLUG FROM THE TWO UNUSED SOCKETS

INSERT THE ORG/BLU (O2 SENSOR) WIRE INTO THE SOCKET BETWEEN THE BRN/BLK WIRE AND THE BLK/RED WIRE. (TOP CENTER SOCKET IN PIC)

INSERT THE BLU/YEL (KNOCK SENSOR) WIRE INTO THE SOCKET NEXT TO THE OTHER BLU/YEL WIRE. (BOTTOM RIGHT SOCKET IN PIC)

NOTE - IF YOU ARE USING A CHIPPED P28 ECU YOU WILL NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT WIRING UP THE KNOCK SENSOR

YOUR NEXT STEP IS TO MOVE THE RED WIRE ON YOUR ECU HARNESS FROM A20 TO A17 FOR YOUR SECONDARY RUNNERS FOR YOUR INTAKE MANIFOLD. THEY SHOULD OPERATE AS SEEN HERE .

ALL YOU HAVE LEFT YOU DO IS PLUG IN YOUR ECU AND PLUG THE 3 VX SHOCK TOWER HARNESSES INTO THE GSR MOTOR HARNESSES.

If you have any questions PM me.

Can you tell me how to rewire my 96 vx coupe o2 sensor 5 wires to a 4 wires? I'm getting a code 41 (primary o2 sensor heater). The car has an ls/vtec with the obd2a-obd1 conversion harness. I tried to wire the 4 wire o2 sensor directly to ecu and still get the code. Will you know about this problem? thanks a lot.

I have no experience with that. I really need to see the car and trace the wires to give you an answer.

That would help me a great deal as well... I don't think imagestation allows you to remotely post piqs anymore unless they changed their policy again.

What engine is in a '94 VX?? (Im in Ireland, our models are different)

i.e. What CC, is it MPFI(multi-point-fuel-injection)? and is it OBD1 or OBD2?

Just wondering as Im trying to find info to help with the wiring for my swap: OBD1 '95 JDM B18C1 into '96 Civic hatch 1.4sohc(MPFI) Non-Vtec(also OBD1).

ok, i have the P28 chipped with uberdata, and its running like complete ***, cuz ims till running the stock Z1 harness and O2.. last night, i let it run for a while, and it was sputtering, and going up and down like it had a vaccum leak. long story short, i unplug the O2, and it stops.. plug it back in, and back to jacked up..

so today, being the cheap skate i am, i went and got a bosch O2 for liek 60 bucks.. it has 4 wires, 2 white, and 1 black and 1 grey.

black is signal, grey is ground, and it says white should be 2 additional heater elements? what pins should i be connecting these to?

hey i just saw this and i have already switched the two wires on the shock tower harness, so according to this all your saying i have left to do is switch the red wire on the ecu plug, IS that correct? IS this all the wiring i have to do to make the engine run correctly without CEL. thanks
I would pm you but i'm a new user and can't use that yet.

That is all the wiring you need to do if you are wiring a OBD1 B18C1 into a VX.
