oil pressure gauge install
im gonna use the feed from the stock oil pressure sensor. im NOT gonna T off the block in order to reuse the stock sensor. just connect the gauge line only. now for the wire that comes off the stock sensor, do i need to tie it to ground or just cut it and tape it up? the oil pressure light wont come on right?

nope the sensor on the block to the left of where the oil filter goes.

okay i was do n a little research and i came upon a thread that said i need to use a 1/8" BSPT male fitting (screws into where the stock pressure sensor would be) with a 1/8" NPT female end (for the autometer gauge).
cant I screw in the autometer brass fitting directly to the block? well i went to autozone to get the BSPT to NPT fitting and they didnt have it so i went to home depot and couldnt find it either. so where can i get this fitting? also do i need this fitting or can the autometer peice just screw into the block?
i got this from another thread:

It's not the right one, and I think most of the "don't T off the block" stuff was created by people putting the wrong threads in the block. http://www.tunertoys.com has a fitting with the correct threads, and it will give you two outlets to do whatever you wish with them, or plug them. </TD></TR></TABLE>

the tuner toys fitting is still going to be too heavy
the added weight , plus the movement of the engine will cause the soft aluminum block to break

Stan's remote line kit is hell of a deal. I can't put one together for less than $30 with all the same parts using Aeroquip stuff.
I think I've experimented with trying to thread 1/8" NPT fittings in the block's 1/8" BSPT hole, and it doesn't work unless you force it...which just ends up shredding up the alumium.

the BSPT fitting alone costs $10 from autometer
I wasn't able to price together a cheaper setup
and i'll be adding a sensor for an additional oil pressure light, and this kit has provision to add another sensor
