Default oil pressure

while auto Xing i had this gut feeling something was wrong and could not tell if vtec was crossing over, so i want to install a pressure gauge for a little while to monitor the oil pressure, just wondering if I use a T where the stock oil sending unit is and install both the external gauge and stock sensor

TIA

The stock oil pressure sensor is not connected to your ECU. It is a dummy switch that runs to the light on your cluster.

With that said when you install the gauge do not under any circumstance tee off the block!!! Run a SS line to the firewall and tee from there, the vibrations from the engine can shatter the brass tee causing very quick loss of oil and pressure = motor done. http://www.theoldone.com/articles/oilpressure/
