How much boost can i run on a stock h22 block?
I have just recently aquired a h22 block which I am putting into a euro CRX chassis (1989 shape). I am about to undergo a rebuild of the entire engine and have 3 choices
a) run the turbo at a very low psi on stock internals due to weak sleeves
b)build the block with forged rods and pistons and still keep the PSI low or....
c)sleeve the block, put forged internals in place and run the boost at 8-10PSI with a view to increase in future
Please let me know your views/comments
Thanks
Nick

A. sleeves aren't the weak point it's the ringlands. on average people say 6-9 daily, 10-12 track.
b. can't run forged pistons with stock sleeves.
c. always a good choice with h-series considering it will be tuned good.

I agree, Don't run forged pistons on factory H22 sleeves! E-mail pocketrockets racing fmay@superaje.com as he specializes in H motors and ships to UK. He can send you a block or complete built motor.
