I honestly have no clue where this started. At a little local HT meet last night some **** was arguing with me till his face turned blue about how much better the LS trans is with turbo because by the time I'm shifting into third gear with my B16, he's going to just power past me with his LS trans cause he don't have to shift. It's just wrong. Shorter gearing means shorter acceleration. It's grade 10 physics. Nothing to discuss. Your car will accelerate quicker with a B16 trans, although I feel that a GSR trans is a perfect fit for a street turbo honda. LS gears are too long, the LS motor was put in economy-geared integras. B16's and B18C's were put in more sports orientated cars that are driven quick, geared for fast acceleration. It makes sense. Shorter gears make you accelerate quicker while naturally aspirated, why wouldn't the same thing hold true when turbocharged? I know some people have reported on here that they have picked up several tenths and a few MPH in the 1/4 going from an LS to a GSR or B16 trans.

Well, it also depends on how much power you have. Lower hp cars need shorter gears to get through the rpms faster. A higher hp car (lets say 450whp) would have a hell of a time trying to get through the gears with a B16 tranny. You would have 3 or even 4 useless gears. B16 tranny in most cases would be the better tranny, turbo or not
To be honest, I cant see how a tranny would grind every gear unless it was assembled wrong or beat to death without knowing how to drive.
Perhaps your clutch has problems, perhaps low or wrong tranny fluid, or your hydro tranny really needs to be properly bled...
I wouldn't trade if I were you. LS trannys are getting much easier to come by than the more sought after b16 trannys.
good luck
