LS tranny for FI?
I've heard that the turbo people like LS trannies because of the longer gears, but will the longer gears work as well with other types of FI such as nitrous?
Screw the LS tranny. Not unless you want to accelerate slower
Or unless all you want to do is race for top speed---i would personally leave that to the supras and other 6speed cars.
I just went FI this part weekend and I love the gsr gearing. Wouldnt ever go to any lower ratio tranny

I figured it had something to do with the turbo spooling up. I have the ls tranny on my ls/vtec and I think/hope thats whats slowing me down. Any Turbo guys want to buy it or trade for a b16 or gsr tranny?

Plus, an LS tranny on an LS vtec ? It's nice for turbo... remember, vtec will raise the shift point.... no more 3rd topping out at 80 !

I have the best of both worlds: LS tranny with ITR LSD and 4.400 GSR/ITR final drive.
Gearing isn't too short, so it's good for highway, and it's not too long, which is good for acceleration. Not including the added cost of an LSD, this might run cheaper than actually buying a used GSR tranny.

Thanks guys. You guys should try it if you want to go this route. A few people here on HT have the 4.400 countershaft and final drive ring gear available. Then all you need is to get your hands on an LSD. I got mine off of Ebay for about $350. Not bad considering it's a helical type from a 98 JDM ITR.
Then you can either do the work yourself or to a tranny shop. I can't imagine it will be too much.

How would the stock LSD from an R hold up to higher than stock power levels... about 280whp + ?
This is like taking a turn very hard, causing a drive wheel to lift off. Then touching down again while applying full boost.
